What To Do In Uncertain Times – Podcast Episode 421

In this episode, I share an audio clip from Andy Stanley’s Leadership Podcast. The topic of his talk was “What To Do In Uncertain Times.” This has certainly been a topic that has been fresh on the minds of many people, including myself, as we have seen what has happened to our economy.

The question is how do we move forward? What can we do to keep from losing our hope? I believe that this episode helps to answer those questions.

Some points that I share in this episode are as follows:

In the beginning, all you had was an idea. From that idea, you created and moved forward. We, as leaders, need to go back to that original idea. We need to remember why we got into this in the first place. Looking back, we are able to see how much more we have now than what we had back then. Hopefully, we’ll recall that this wasn’t our idea in the first place, this was something that God called us to do.

What about the fact that we can’t predict tomorrow? We need to wise up to the fact that we’ve never been able to predict tomorrow. But when we look back, we can remember when we had nothing. We look in awe at God’s faithfulness to bring us this far.

Sometimes when things don’t seem to be going in the right direction, it’s easy question if this is a closed door or a sign that we are on the wrong path. Most of the time, this is not the case. The original vision is the right destination, but the current plans may be the wrong path. Occasionally, we need to abandon our current plans. However, we must remember that it is always possible to abandon our current plans without abandoning our original vision.

Tonight, as I walked out the door to go for a walk, I sent out a status update saying… “Heading out the door for an evening walk. Loaded up with a few of my favorite podcasts to listen to. #PABL.”
