hey cliff! i too am having weird tingling and numbness - and figured it was just carpal, as it's something i've dealt with on and off for a number of years (way back in my video editing days). i never considered diabetes - which runs in my family! i did go to the dr. today though, and i have a "prescription" to go see a neurologist.

i hope your visit at the doc's goes well, and i'll pray for you re: the needle thing!

Great job! I have been doing something similar over the past couple of weeks. I have always enjoyed walking, especially on the treadmill while watching TV, but my diet has been so out of whack that the exercise did not result in weight loss. Instead, I was gaining a pound here and there, and the months would pass... Anyway, about two weeks ago I decided to monitor my food intake using the Weight Watchers Points system. In the first week, I lost 3-5 pounds (hard to say with the scale needle, but it was definitely a loss). In week 2, I lost 1-2 pounds.

You're absolutely right that you should heed the warning signs of diabetes. The good news is that many people see those symptoms disappear once they get to a healthier weight. Keep up the good work!
